What are the consequences if a tenant fails to vacate after the expiry of a section 25 notice? When a notice under section 25 of the LTA 1954 expires, the lease will come to an end on the date specified in the notice and the tenant will lose its statutory right to a lease renewal derived from that lease
The Tenant Fees Act 2019 came into effect on 1 June 2019. This prohibits landlords and letting agents from charging fees to tenants, unless they are permitted under Schedule 1 of the Act. There are also new rules about holding deposits for tenants that also came into effect on 1 June 2019.
