Commercial Property roles:

    Description

    We have always been fortunate to have a consistent and high quality caseload and have, particularly over the last year, seen an expansion of work coming into the team. For that reason, we are looking to build our commercial property team and strengthen further our offering.

    Our client base and the reputation we have built is such that the calibre of work we handle sees us often opposite Legal100 firms. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, friendly and supportive team.

    The candidate for this role will be fully supported by the rest of the team but will also, ideally, have the following background:

    Key Skills & Experience

    • Qualified lawyer with good experience gained in a highly regarded Legal 500 practice

    • Achieve billing, time and fee earning targets set and co-operate with the firm’s credit control arrangements

    • Proven project and time management skills

    • A confident and professional manner

    • Work effectively within a team

    • Be professional, organised, competent, enthusiastic and ambitious.

    • Be able to work independently and as part of a team with other fee earners, providing advice and assistance whenever needed to develop knowledge and skills within the rest of the team.

    Good experience in the following practice areas is a requisite:

    • Commercial leases/occupiers (grants/surrenders/assignments/ LTA 54 renewals);

    • Grant of easements;

    • Freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals

    • Options and overage; and

    • Property finance (e.g. debentures/charges)

    The ideal candidate would also have either good or some working experience in the following areas:

    Commercial and residential development sites including:

    • conditional sale agreements

    • site assembly

    • ransom strips

    • options

    • sub-station leases

    • collaboration/JV agreements

    • promotion agreements

    • Acting for landowners in respect of sales to developers (experience of developers requirements)

    • Ancillary knowledge of planning law/construction process.

    Leeds Day is seeking a dynamic self-starter to join our team, based initially at our office in St Neots with opportunities for cross-site working and flexible working arrangements.     Key Responsibilities:

    • Managing a varied caseload of family law matters, including Private Law children, divorce and related financial matters.

    • Undertaking your own advocacy.

    • Promoting the firm through social media, LinkedIn, networking and other marketing initiatives.

    About You:

    • 3PQE+ in family law

    • Expertise in Private Law children, divorce, and financial matters

    • Experience in conducting your own advocacy

    • Accreditation to undertake Family Mediation (desirable), including MIAMs

    • Keen, dynamic, and enthusiastic, with a strong professional reputation and client recommendations

    • A proactive approach to business development and networking

    The litigation team handles a variety of litigation from PI, negligence and property litigation to general civil and commercial litigation dispute matters.

    The position open is for a commercial and general civil litigation solicitor handling a mixed caseload ranging from shareholder and company disputes to debt recovery and contract disputes.

    This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, friendly and supportive team that has already established itself locally and regionally dealing with some nationally reported cases.

    The candidate for this role will enjoy dealing with a variety of complex and challenging work types and will have the following background experience:

    • costs management and budgets;

    • CPR rules and other procedural-related matters

Wills and estate planning roles:

    Description

    The Wills and Estate Planning team at Leeds Day LLP handles a variety of private client work including administration of estates, powers of attorney, trusts and law relating to elderly clients. 

    We are looking for a motivated Associate Solicitor, to join our dynamic Wills and Estate Planning team in Huntingdon. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to take the next step in their career, working on complex estate administration matters and succession planning within a reputable, established (locally and regionally) and growing firm, as well as joining a friendly and supportive team.

    Key Skills & Experience

    The candidate for this role will enjoy dealing with a variety of complex and challenging work types and will have the following background experience:

    • Excellent written English

    • Good research skills, including an ability to use online information sources

    • Ability to build strong relationships with clients, both existing and potential
