Lil Packaging, Europe’s largest independent producer of ecommerce packaging based in Huntingdon, recently acquired the former Wilsons plc factory sites in Windover Road and Clifton Road for £3.3m pounds as part of its expansion strategy. You may unconsciously already know of Lil Packaging as it provides packing to Amazon, as well as many other worldwide known brands such as Clarins, UGG, Ted Baker and Hotel Chocolat (another Huntingdon based business), to name but a few.

Barry Lill, Managing Director of Lil Packaging Limited, says ‘we are pleased to announce our acquisition of another site in Huntingdon. This has come about due to the expansion of the business which has gone from strength to strength over the decades, having started out in 1983. We are looking forward to being operational on the new site once the renovation works are complete. The move is to increase capacity for our 30% annual growth over the last 3-4 years and to best position Lil to become the first NET ZERO CARBON packaging manufacturer by 2030 as this building is being refurbished with sustainability at the forefront to provide its own energy’.

Christopher Dodd, Partner at Leeds Day LLP who led the property team on Lil’s acquisition says ‘It’s great to see yet another hugely strong business in Huntingdonshire growing; and we’re proud to have represented Lil Packaging, our long-standing client, in this transaction’.
