I joined the predecessor firm of Day & Son in 1963 initially on a temporary basis before going to college to do a Business Studies Course. Following completion of my course, I was persuaded to return to the firm in June l964 initially as a junior Secretary. At that time I was also appointed as Diocesan Registrar’s Assistant dealing with matters arising in connection with Ecclesiastical Parishes in the Diocese of Ely including issuing Marriage Licences.
I also qualified and became an Associate of the Institute of Legal Executives and obtained advanced examinations in Conveyancing & Land Law dealing with Conveyancing & Probate work. Family commitments following the birth of my two sons resulted in me continuing to work initially on a part time basis and then returning to full time employment in l989 when I became Manager of the St Ives Conveyancing department.
Due to health reasons in 2001 I reduced my working hours and my role within the practice is on a peripatetic basis working at all three offices of the practice assisting on a Managerial aswell as Executive/Secretarial basis.
