Corporate Commercial Solicitor 5-10PQE

Description

Due to continued growth we are looking to recruit a highly experienced corporate solicitor with 5-10 years PQE to join our Commercial Business team.

Responsibilities

Working closely with the partners and experienced team and with high levels of direct client contact, the role will include:

  • M&A; acquisition and takeover over work for UK and European clients
  • Drafting agreements including sale and purchase agreements, shareholder agreements and asset purchase agreements 
  • Group structuring and restructuring
  • Joint ventures
  • General corporate and commercial work
  • Business development and networking

Key Skills & Experience

  • Qualified lawyer with good experience gained in a highly regarded Legal 500 practice
  • Corporate experience
  • Commercial agreements
  • Relevant ‘hands-on’ work experience
  • Achieve billing, time and fee earning targets set and co-operate with the firm’s credit control arrangements
  • Proven project and time management skills
  • A confident and professional manner
  • Work effectively within a team, as well as efficiently running an individual caseload.
  • Be professional, organised, competent, enthusiastic and ambitious.
  • Be able to work with other fee earners and provide advice and assistance whenever needed to develop knowledge and skills within the rest of the team

Key Skills & Experience

  • Qualified lawyer with very good experience gained in a highly regarded Legal 500 practice
  • Achieve billing, time and fee earning targets set and co-operate with the firm’s credit control arrangements
  • Proven project and time management skills
  • A confident and professional manner
  • Work effectively within a team, as well as efficiently running an individual caseload.
  • Be professional, organised, competent, enthusiastic and ambitious.
  • Be able to work with other fee earners and provide advice and assistance whenever needed to develop knowledge and skills within the rest of the team

Strong experience in the following practice areas is a requisite:

  • Commercial leases/occupiers (grants/surrenders/assignments/ LTA 54 renewals);
  • Grant of easements;
  • Freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals
  • Options and overage; and
  • Property finance (e.g. debentures/charges)

The ideal candidate would also have good working experience in the following:

Commercial and residential development sites including:

  • conditional sale agreements
  • site assembly
  • overage/clawback
  • ransom strips
  • options
  • sub-station leases
  • collaboration/JV agreements
  • promotion agreements
  • Acting for landowners in respect of sales to developers (experience of developers requirements)
  • Ancillary knowledge of planning law/process.

Agricultural work including:

  • Agricultural law
  • Farm Business Tenancies/Occupational agreements
  • Estate management
  • Entitlements
  • FIT tariff leases/Wind Turbines
